ISLANDS OFF ATTICA, Aegina. Circa 500/490-480 BC. Stater (Silver, 19 mm, 12.31 g). Sea turtle; on shell, two countermarks: Akanthos flower within rectangular incuse and owl standing right, head facing, within circular incuse. Rev. Square incuse with small skew pattern. Meadows Group IIc. HGC 6, 434. A crude piece with two lovely countermarks. Light scratches on the obverse, otherwise, fine.
